ICON Group at the IPMA World Congress 2025 – Leadership with Values, AI, and Sustainability at the Core

ICON Group, represented by CEO Dimitris Managoudis and Civil Engineer – PM Level-D Mary Fragkouli, proudly participated in the 34th IPMA World Congress held in Berlin (17–19 September).

A highlight of the congress was the panel discussion “Shaping the Future with PM — Insights from IPMA Presidents”, featuring Prof. Dr. Mladen Vukomanović, Brigitte Schaden, Roberto Mori, and Joop Schefferlie, moderated by Prof. Dr. Peter Thuy. The dialogue focused on sustainability, governance, digital transformation, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting how project management is no longer just about responding to change — but about driving it.

Our CEO, Dimitris Managoudis, emphasized:

“Projects build in people who trust. We need more emotionally intelligent leadership, stronger connections across cultures, and trust grounded in transparency.”

Dedicated sessions on AI & Project Management showcased how artificial intelligence can enhance human judgment, enabling smarter decision-making and reinforcing governance structures.

Inspiring talks — such as Holger Barth’s reflections on the value of experience — along with key networking moments, like our meeting with Tobias Lauer of NANGA Smart Solutions, opened new avenues for innovation and collaboration.

What did ICON Group gain?
Our participation wasn’t simply informative — it was transformational. It reaffirmed our core values: sustainability, technological innovation, and people-centered leadership. It also deepened our understanding of how AI can shape the future of project management.

Armed with this insight, we remain committed to building infrastructure and delivering solutions that serve not only performance — but the greater good.
